Will my Instructor have a current Driving Instructor Licence? 

Certainly.  If you drive with our instructor rest assured you are being trained by a highly qualified Driver Trainer who has undertaken Certificate 4 in Driver Instructing, has passed a police check and is holiding a current DIA. 

Are we an ADTA Member? 

 Yes

What course-guidelines does our school have?

Every student must bring along to each lesson their Learners Permit, their Log Book (if required), correct payment and also be wearing appropriate footwear (no thongs).  Mobile phones must be turned off.  

Are our lesson plans structured?

We recognise that every student is different and at various stages in their driver training.  The first session will usually be an assessment to see what the students driving abilities are.  From there on we will progress the student according to their capabilities. 

Do they have any supporting education materials to give the student?

Yes we have a range of handouts and materials to give to students containing important information, tools and tips.

Do we offer a system of reporting progress to parents?

A student record will be filled out on each lesson, this record is available to be emailed to the student to show parents what they have been achieving and show any areas of development which need improvement.  Parents are encouraged to attend driving lessons and to get involved in the development program which is being undertaken by the Driver Trainer. 

Do they have a curriculum for teaching ‘Low Risk’ (Hazard Awareness) driving?

Each lesson the student will learn how to deal with difficult road situations and best prepare themselves for avoiding collisions and causing hazarous situations.  Students may also wish to select specific lessons which will confront hazards not always faced in the local suburb driving, these include, City Driving, Country Road Driving, Night Driving and Freeway Driving.

Can we provide guidance to parents, particularly about their role as supervising drivers.

Certainly.  We are affiliated with the Government Program Keys To Drive whereby learner drivers are permitted one free driving lesson so long as the students supervising driver(s) attend.  If at any time parents or supervising drivers need assistance with a problem concerning their learner driver we encourage parents to phone the Driver Trainer for advice.

Is the training one-to-one (not three in a car)?

Yes.  Unless otherwise arranged ie. 3 friends wishing to share a half day city driving lesson, school bookings.

Can we provide an Instructor sensitive to the needs of the learner? (Some people may be nervous, lack confidence or prefer a choice of male or female instructor)

We acknowledge each student is different and will require varied training techniques to bring the best abilities out of students.  Our Driver Trainer is english speaking and female. 

What type of vehicle is offered - auto or manual? Large or small?

At this stage we cater for Automatic Drivers and train in a Toyota Corolla.  We have an associate school who we can recommend if you wish to learn in a manual vehicle.

Is the car fitted with dual-controls?

Yes

How flexible will we be - will they change their pick-up and drop-off points to suit school, work or home?

We are flexible in collection and drop off locations as long as the locations are within reason. 

What happens if you need to cancel a lesson? How much notice is required to receive a full refund?

We would appreciate 24 hour notice for cancellations however will not charge a cancellation fee should you cancel within 24 hours as long as it is only a first occurance.

What happens in the event of an accident? Is the car fully insured?

We hold full comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.

Do we have public liability & professional indemnity insurance?

Yes
